Guatemala

The people of Guatemala have held a special place in our hearts from our first visit to the region in 2018. We had the distinct honor and pleasure to work with one of the U.S.’s greatest physical therapy charitable organizations, Move Together Inc. on a service trip to the area at that time and we have continued our work in Guatemala over the years.

Mentorevolution’s mission focus on education and mentorship for the physical therapists and healthcare providers in Guatemala has been realized in many ways over the years, thanks to our amazing partners in the region. We have had the opportunity to make impacts through university and community education, clinical and hospital mentorship, professional development through conference engagement and organizational support.

Our steadfast partner in the region, Innovaciones Medicas, has positioned education at the forefront of their business in Central America. They have worked diligently to engage with leaders and educators from around the globe to offer courses and resources to the physical therapists and healthcare professionals throughout the region. We are so greatful for their engagement and support for our mutual goals in the area.

The Asociacion de Fisioterapeutas de Occidente (AFO) has provided us with opportunities to teach in their in-person conferences and provide virtual education for their physiotherapy members to work toward the common goal of improving the quality of care that their community members have access to.

We have also had the opporunity to support ADISA in Atitlan, Guatemala. This organization provides a wide variety of crucial health and wellness services for Guatemalans around the country who are dealing with disabilities. From physiotherapy, to medical and dental and even prosthetics and orthotics, this organization does it all. We are elated to be able to support them in the wonderful work that they do!

Our collaboration in Guatemala will continue into the future as we work toward structured educational programming for their PTs to have access to higher level training and resources to provide better care for their patients.

Mexico

In 2025 we embarked on a new journey with a tremendous group of physiotherapists in Mexico. Through our relationships in Guatemala, we connected with the leadership team from Asociación Mexicana de Fisioterapia Manual e Instrumental (AMFI) and we were invited to present at the inaugural Congreso in Merida, Mexico. This was an incredible opportunity to work and teach alongside some of the most ambitious and influential leaders in the physiotherapy community from Mexico, Spain, Guatemala and other countries.

Through this experience, we were able to teach Mexican physiotherapists about the value of mentorship in manual therapy. We are working with several of the members from their leadership team on future education opportunities and mentorship delivery.

We are also working with managers from the Mexican National Rehabilitation Institute to create structured educational programming and mentorship programming to support the therapists that work within their system around the country.

We are very hopeful that these new relationships will continue to grow and blossom into an incredible network that can continue to support Mexico’s physical therapists and the patients in their communities for years to come.

Stay tuned!

Peru

Our team is very excited to partner with a truly phenomenal organization in Make a Miracle in 2025. Make a Miracle is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing scholarships and empowering individuals in Colombia and Peru through education. Together with their partners and sponsors, they work tirelessly to break the cycle of poverty and create brighter futures for talented students in the region.

Make a Miracle’s mission is to provide individuals and communities with education, community outreach programs and dependable housing, while partnering with local leadership. Mentorevolution will be partnering with Make a Miracle to support their education and community health endeavors through education and mentorship for their physical therapists on staff in their community wellness center in San Juan de Luriguancho, Peru. We will be working with their therapists along with physical therapists and other healthcare providers in the local communities to provide professional development and resources so that they can improve the impact that they can have on the members of their communities.

We hope to continue to develop this project in Peru with Make a Miracle and grow with them into their other targe communities of Huancavelica, Peru and Monteria, Columbia in the years to come.

We are humbled to have the opportunity to partner with an organization that has made such a tremendous impact in Columbia and Peru through education, housing and wellness to support these communities.

Kenya

The concept of Mentorevolution began while we were in Nairobi Kenya mentoring an incredible group of physiotherapists through the Jackson Clinics Foundation. The Jackson Clinics Foundation has been inovolved for over 30 years in Kenya, providing education, mentorship and resources to generations of Kenyan PTs. Their work was truly inspiring and showed us that we could do more to make an impact in rural and underserved areas.

While in Kenya, we were able to mentor physiotherapists associated with Kenyatta Medical Training College (KMTC) that were pursuing advanced specialty training in orthopaedic physical therapy facilitatied by the Jackson Clinics Foundation.

The leaders of these organization have built a community of leaders who are eager to share their knowledge with other colleagues in East Africa. In collaboration with the administrators at Karen Hospital, they had a dream of hosting an East African Physiotherapy Summit to provide continuing education to regional physiotherapists and in just a few years from our time there, they were able to make this a reality. Truly incredible.

We will always treasure our time in Kenya and the amazing therapists and patients that we had the opportunity to work alongside. We will continue to support their endeavors as they continue to reach for the stars working toward a better future for their patients and healthcare providers.
